Some people are just sick and wrong and it doesn't matter what they believe. I wish someone in authority would do something about it instead of trying to hide the problem. Sexually abusing a child goes beyond sinning and usually the offender can't or won't repent. They need to be permanently removed from society.

As far as homosexual behavior, if it's two consenting adults, I don't care. I can't change them, but I wish they would stop being hypocrites about it.

May God Bless you.

Well firstly, it's over reported. A paedophile priest will always be on the news, usually for quite a while. Paedophilia happens everyday, and usually you don't hear about it.
Secondly, there are a lot of priests. Statistically you'd expect some of them to be paedophiles. That doesn't mean that they're paedophiles because they're priests, it just means that being a priest doesn't prevent paedophilia.
And thirdly, priests tend to have increased opportunity to commit paedophilia. This means that if a priest is attracted to young boys, he's more likely to act on his feelings than someone without access to children. It also means that if someone is attracted you young boys they may choose to become a priest simply because of the access they'd have.

People sin. Some repent and change and follow the Lord, some do not and continue in their sinful natures. It's more shocking and disturbing when it is a priest or someone that teaches the word of God and someone who we think we can trust our children to be guided by. But the fact remains that no matter who you are or what vocation or career you pursue in life, there are 3 groups of people in this world: The true christian, the nonchristian and the people who profess to be christians, but only wear the christian label and talk the talk but do not walk the walk. Please do not judge christianity based on the few who abuse it and do not let these people be your excuse as to why you do not turn to Jesus. Jesus doesn't look to anyone else when He judges YOU, only at your heart. These sinful priests will answer to God for their sins and for their leading children astray.

There are too many of them in this world and they are not all preists. The people who do this that are preists have no right to be in the positions they are in. I don't know enough about the Catholic church to say anything about why some of them stay and some of them go, so I'm not touching that. But I am 100% sure that it's not just people claiming to be Christians out in this world that are hurting children. And psychologically, it's usually not a homosexual thing, it's a pedofile thing (they like kids, they have some sick thing in their brains telling them they want innocent children).

Fundamentalist/evangelical Christians know and say it's wrong. Unfortunately the Catholic church doesn't allow their priests to marry and it's taking it's toll in this terrible activity they are choosing to do. God loves the sinner but hates the sin and anyone no matter what station in life is vulnerable to it if they obsess and focus on it instead of what they should focus on.

"Many" is the wrong word to use. The only priests you see get media coverage are the molesters, so it's easy to overlook how many are not. The molesters really are an extremely small number.

If these priests are truly the Christians they claim to be, they'll admit their sin, and try to seek help.

As an evangelical Christian, I believe that both homosexuality and child molestation are wrong. But please don't confuse the two. (I'm surprised that no homosexuals have scolded you for this yet.)

Also, please don't confuse Catholicism with Christianity. Catholicism is a religion that follows it's book and elected earthly leaders. Christianity is a relationship with Christ and for guidance uses the bible as it's first, last and only authority.

Do not compare the catholic church to Christianity. While it may be true that many catholics consider themselves to be Christian, by "the" book (AV1611), it's not. This problem lies solely with the catholic church.

IF the catholic church would allow it's nuns and priests to marry, it would eliminate so many of it's problems on this issue. But the catholic church has proven time and time again that it has no interest in what the Bible say or what it's people have to say about it, otherwise, it wouldn't an issue to begin with, they would just do it. This is just one of many things that proves that the catholic church is not Christian.

The priest aren't Christians. There are a lot of people out there calling themselves Christian who are not even close. Actions speak louder than words.
