Well there are number of excel password recovery software available, just search the keyword and number of them would be listed, but choose only the genuine ones.

There are number of passwords in MS Excel which are assigned to documents. You can access read-only files and view data. For more info about excel password types visit http://password-recovery.blogspot.com/

Passwords are locked if you try more than certain number of times in most of the places but it is not the case with XLS. So use the combinations that you frequently use to crack the password. All the best.

Microsoft passwords are almost impossible to break. You could happen across the password by accident, but most likely you will only get frustrated. There are companies out there that have tools to get the information out of the file for you, but they are expensive. If the information is for business and you really need to get it, consider one of them, otherwise, start guessing.

Try every possible combination of characters until you get it. This is called a "brute force" attack, and should yield results sometime next millenium.

You can open it in read-only mode and/or just View the file.
