the problem is my kitten is 5 weeks old but it's as small as a hamster almost. she only weighs 150 grams (5.29 ounces) I want her to gain, she does eat but doesn't gain. I also notice that she might have tapeworms but the vet won't do nothing until she goes in to get her shot when she's 8 weeks. Maybe thats why she doesn't gain cause those kind of worms eat at teh intestines you know. She is a professional, they save animals lives for free. I beleive they will do a better job than i have. sure i made her survive but i'm not doing a good job at her gaining. I hoe this lady can make miracles. :)

I have done everything to help this kitten out, i have milk replacement which i feed her every 3 - 4 hours, and i got this other stuff that is a hig-calorie dietary supplement, that you have to feed her every 6 hours and i have even tried wet cat food from cans.

you are a brave person and someone who put that kitten's life before your own feelings, you should be proud of yourself. you did the right thing. ask if you can visit, I am sure you will be able to do so. kittens need to bond with their moms.

I hate to tell you this. You're kitten doesn't know you. It's far to young and by the sound of it, weak to remember you. Your kitten will hopefully recover and come back to you no problem. But I'm sure if you ask before hand, you can see the little one. That's amazing though. I hand raise orphan kittens all year and I've never seen that happen. Five weeks old and only 150 grams? Wow. It's amazing it hasn't died. You obviously did something right.

Ask the lady I'm sure she will be happy that you care and would be glad for you to call or visit to check on her. I know I would let you!

Droncit by bayer can be used in kittens from 6 weeks and treats tapeworms.

Kittens of that age need to be fed about every 3 or four hours, around the clock, they shouldn't leave Mom until around 10 weeks. I know sometimes Mom dies or rejects the kitten.

That depends on wether this is a proper rescue, why they are taking her, and if you sign relinquishment papers...I am assuming "to help her gain properly" is she is not getting enough nutrition? Maybe they think you are starving her--you might not get her back--even if you did not sign papers...why would they have to take her to help her put on weight unless she is malnourished? WHY is she malnorished? There is just too many facts you have not shared to prepare an informed answer...

Is this women reputable and responsible? What exactly is wrong with your kitten that it needs to be taken away? Is it very young and unable to eat on it own?

Just wondering.

And of course, she should at least keep you informed about your kitten, if you are unable to visit it.

Please tell us more about this. Thanks

I am sure they will if you ask. They do want the kitten to go home eventually and they want the her to bond with you.
