I think that the Bitter and Nasty ones are the ones with the weak faith rather than a strong faith. It they truely believe in what they are preaching then they aren't threatened by some one questioning it or the faith of others in other ways.

Not all non-believers who post to this Forum are hate-mongers. Likewise, some self-professed believers seem to have wandered away from the “love thy neighbor” reservation judging by some of their written words.
For both of these types of persons, it is interesting and sad to see how some persons will behave when hiding behind the anonymity of the computer. As an "old guy" I have occasionally acted irresponsibly in my youth, so I can relate, but only up to a point. I suspect that these persons would be truly ashamed if they knew their parents, husband, wife, children, etc., learned of some of the things they write herein. If their loved ones have departed this earth they may even be looking down on these persons from above and weeping at their actions. Clearly they do their loved ones a disservice and dishonor them with such behavior.
The best solution I can recommend for you is to ignore the vapid questions or comments of believers and non-believers. It is very easy to scan past them and focus your eyes on the substantive and cogent items. If you spend enough time in this Forum the persons prone to ill manners become known quickly, enabling the ignoring of their wasted efforts even easier.

If you look back at the beginning questions and answers for most of these "nasty" believers, you will see that most of them didn't start out that way. If you also pay attention to alot of the abuse and nastiness most of them have gotten from non believers you might see for yourself. I'm not saying they have an excuse. No one should say hurtful or nasty things to anybody. I try to practice patience and love to all, but I myself get very upset here sometimes. I came to this section to learn about others beliefs and share with like minded people. It gets very upsetting seeing some of the garbage and outright lies on here.

If your faith is done out of just obligation and not love, then it will lead people to bitterness and nastiness because they do not do the things they do from love and so they feel deprived.

There is always a question in the back of the minds of God believers if he really exist. Hell I would be a little worried believing in a God on the word of a book that was written by a more primitive culture. It would give me an inferiority complex that God found it more interesting to talk with a primitive civilization.

Not all. But in answer, most people without faith are the same sounding on here. I think everyone works everyone up. It's not faith and it's not non-faith, it's being human and protecting your beliefs or non-beliefs. And yes, it may not be Christian like, but some times you are nice and nice and nice and then you can't help but to say the wrong thing sometimes. It happens, but God understands and forgives us all!

It doesn't. Bitter, nasty people profess great faith in order to belittle others, but their deeds reveal their character.

They believe in god, but they most certainly do not have faith. I'd have said "Why does having a strong belief in god make people bitter and nasty?".
Other than that nit-picking, yes, excellent question.
