What are the outer affects of drugs use?

My ex husband looks strangely different than I last saw him. He has lost weight and has big brown circles under his eyes and coughs a great deal.

Perhaps he's just sick? Losing weight can be a sign of drug use but losing weight is also a sign of severe sickness, working out, eating less, etc. My point- it could be anything. No drug makes you cough. Smoking perhaps but pot (if you're wondering if he's smoking) will make you gain weight because you are always hungry!

There's not enough information in your question to really give a supportive answer. If you're close to him, talk to him. If you're not, I guess just let it go. Are there children involved? Are you worried about him? Why not just ask him why he looks different. If he gets defensive, chances are he's up to no good. If he is sick, you can help him out?

That baby is missing you and wants you back! No? Well, let's see then. If you were the one to break it off, he could be depressed which would account for the weight loss. If he's not, many different things can cause weight loss from cancer to thyroid trouble. It's hard to say. The brown circles could be anemia, you could suggest to him that he have a blood test to find the cause. The coughing could be a cold, bronchitis, lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, smoking, allergies or TB. That's also hard to guess. If I had to come up with an answer based on all three symptoms, I'd say cancer. But he should go to the Doctor and get a complete physical and thorough blood work.

Drugs would normally cause emotional mood swings big time unless he is always high when you see him or always not high. but if you are around enough to see both sides of it, you will know.
