As a christian, I would want a good doctor ofcourse, many doctors are atheist, and highly skilled. AND, as a christian, while the doctors are working on my leg, I would already have 2000 people praying for me at the same time, as I belong to a very large church.
Or, maybe, if it happened and no one knew, and I was by myself, it would make no difference to God. It's God that I rely on, not the doctor or other peoples prayers. He's the PHYSICIAN! A doctor may put me back together again, but it is God, and only God, who causes it to heal. Even if I was the only one praying, He would hear me, and answer my prayer!!

Any reasonable Christian would say they would want the Atheist doctor (assuming that's the only one available), along with the 2000 Christians praying. That way, the Atheist doctor can fix the leg, and they get to praise God for the miracle. Best of both worlds.

I guess that would kind of depend on the doctor. If she was a witch doctor, I might go with the prayer.
Obviously, the point you are trying to make is that prayer doesn't work. But you evidently don't understand how prayer works(not that I do either) or you would know that God is not our butler. I have seen people healed instantly by prayer after the doctors already gave up. And I have seen many more people die despite much prayer. Why? I honestly don't know. But I don't dis God because of things I don't understand. God is infinitely deeper than I, and God is perhaps even deeper than you.

Never underestimate the power of prayer. But really, this is a false dichotemy. And polls suggests that 96% of doctors believe in a God because they see suffering the patient's reaction of reaching out to a higher being in light of the suffering. And besides, because they are an atheist shouldn't affect the level of treatment you get.

I'll go to a doc to fix the leg. 2000 Christians praying can't hurt anything either!

You did not give info what kind of doctor the Atheist is. :
So with the only info you have I would have to say 2000 Christians. I have never had 2000 Christians praying for me. : )

Why should God solve our problems? Is it God's fault that you are in this situation? What have your done to solve your problem? God is not an instrument to be used to solve our problems. God has given us everything we need so that we can live in peace and be happy. Does this mean we should not pray anymore? Of course not. When we pray, we should just let go and let God be God.
May the Lord's peace be with you!

Even if I went to the doctor, I could still pray. I do not care who the doctor is, but people can still pray for me, whether I went or not.
