I had this problim when I first installed Vista, and im sure there is a much easier way to fix it, but I couldnt find it, so I ended up re-installing vista.. just save all of your important info, pop inthe disk, restart, go through all that jib jab, and on a good computer should only take maybe half an hour... (thats how long it takes me on a somewhat good computer..)

google the error code and see what it turns up? did you upgrade to vista from xp? maybe it didn't install right. might have to reinstall, then call microsoft and beg and grovel to them to reset your serial number so you can use the product you paid for.
