Of course not! If God answered prayer we would not need modern medicine. Simple antibiotics have saved hundreds of millions of people while their ancestors died horrible, painful deaths praying every second until dead.

He does, but, we are asking out of respect for Him, He wants us to trust that He will provide for us. And having more people pray just helps the situation further, God answers all prayers, sometimes He just answers no. He has so much respect and love for us, in general, that we can't even imagine it. We really can't. I frequently talk to the kindergarteners in my school and we always talk about how much God loves us. And when we are up in the huge sanctuary I always ask them if we could put all of God's love in this room, all of it...and the answer is always no. He has a never ending love for us and for our lives. Life is precious to Him, when He created Adam, He didn't say, it is good, as with all His other creations, He said it is VERY good. God wants us to have respect and love for Him to, which is why we pray. Praying is talking to God. One of the things God has shown me so much this week is that He is with me, He isn't going to leave me. There have been a few days that have been hard for me this week and when I am so broken, God would always remind me that He is there and I cried probly twice this week, just remembering that. God is AWESOME! There aren't words I can say to describe Him. These words are not enough. We cannot comprehend God's will. That is why it is God's will, not our will. I know this is long and I am done now, but if you aren't a Christian, and would like to become one, or have more questions or whatever, feel free to email me, or if you wanna talk, whatever, I am here and willing to listen. Thanks for listening to me, and may GOD bless YOU!

That's the point. People only pray when their in trouble or need help. But do you pray any other time to Him? No, because ppl feel they dont need to and feel who cares about God. Yes, He is a loving God. But do you truely love Him and obey Him in return? If not, dont sit back and blame everything on Him when its you who doesnt follow His word.

why do athletes point to the sky and say thank you God for letting me make that shot (some do it to honor their loved ones who have died)? why would God care if you can sink a jump shot or score a touchdown? I think those are better questions. I believe that the sick pray to God because they are afraid and praying gives them comfort.

Miracles only happen when allowed, sad to say. Even God has rules to follow so our free will isn't destroyed or infringed upon.
and who are you to determine what is ridiculous? it may be ridiculous to you, but it obviously isn't to those who are praying....
and the Loving God also provided us with an immune system, the capability to have/become doctors or pharamacists, and the ability to invent aiding devices such as wheel chairs or prosthetic arms.

we pray for the sake of our relationship with God. well we should anyway. the bible states God already knwos what we want and need before we ask, just as you stated. the issue is, people try to get God to do what they want. like God's purpose is to see to our every desire, and to the fulfillment of our plans. whats wrong with being sick? is pain evil? just because we don't liek somethign doesn't mean God doesn't liek it either. We exist for God's end, not for our own. We are selfish

He wants to help us however we must experience trials and tribulations on our own if we are ever going to learn anything. How are we going to know if fire is hot if we dont touch it or learn from the experiences of others. Same goes when we are ill, it is a test of our faith, and this is how if we know that our faith is strong or weak. So more than anything it is a learning experience so that we can learn grow and progress.
hope it helps ;]

I think praying is a good thing. This question comes across quite arrogant. Jesus was our example, He talked to God when He was scared. : )
God answers to all of our prayers. : )

The bible says without FAITH its impossible to please GOD. prayer shows our faith in GOD. Faith actually goes a long way. With GOD its actually an action word. faith comes before we actually pray because if we didnt have the faith in GOD believe that HE is able to heal us what are we praying for? so my dear prayer is just one of the many forms of faith.

its just the faith people deposit on beings that they think exist... im not saying they do or dont, im just saying its their belief. i think it provides a light of hope to these ill people, the hope that their God and savior will help them to rid themselves of this illness that ails them. i think its good people pray to, in this case God, i think its help them recuperate from whatever theyre suffering from.
