I believe in God but I do know the dead are concerned about the living. Luke 16:19-31 Jesus gave a parable about the rich man and the poor man Lazarus which the rich man spurned all his life.

Angels are angels and human beings are human beings that have eternal souls. So no way a human being can ever be an angel.

While saying all that I do believe a person can have a cosmic experience where the dead may help them. Look at what happened with Jesus Christ on the Mount of Transfiguration. See Matthew 17:1-3 " 1And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him."

Jesus himself said God is the God of the living and not of the dead in Matthew 22:31-33 "31But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
32I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
33And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

Paul himself was nearly stoned to death. And when he died he had experienced a closeness to winesses around him that were present in Hebtews 12:1 "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,"

In the end I understand better about respecting the dead for it is the refelction of their lives that we the living must live to carry on. We as human beings have genes to pass on the family characteristics from one generation to another. But it is our memories of our friends and how they lived that affect our actions and thinking that can reflect in the way we live our lives.

Well thanks for allowing me to share my thougths..

I think you could carry the matter too far, however a passage in Hebrews chapter 12, verse one, after listing many forebears of the faith in Chapter 11 says: "Therefore since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us..."
This suggests to me that those who have gone on before watch with keen interest those who are still engaged in their earthly fight of faith. I don't believe they themselves directly intervene, as this is the work of the angels, as it says: "Are they (angels) not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?" (Hebrews 1:14)

I don't think they become angels, per-say. I do believe that they do know whats happening in our lives.

I don't think they become angels, but I do think they can look down and watch us.

No evidence that they are. I hope my grandmother who passed away last year does not have to worry about me. I hope she is out of the cycle and does not reincarnate. Sincerely.

No.

It is a mystery as to what people do or are involved with when they are on the other side.

No, angels are messengers of God, not dead people. That is a common misconception.
