It seems, by my understanding, true atheists have faith only in
themselves. They believe man has the ability to evolve on his own. Some put down believers in God as believers in fairy tales. Some are outright offended. Which makes me wonder if they are sacrificing themselves to satan without even knowing. You either believe in God or you don't. You shouldn't try to take God away from someone else.

Neither. Atheism is a philosophy which denies the existence of a God.
Lack of faith implies that there is something with which to have faith in. If there is nothing to have faith in, there is no "lack" for not believing.

It's a lack of faith. What Atheism demands are facts and evidence. Faith is not based on any of them

I define Faith as belief despite the lack of evidence.
Irrational faith is belief despite the existence of contrary evidence.
Skepticism is withholding belief when there is insufficient evidence.
I personally think that belief in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) is irrational faith.
As to the more general question of whether there is any kind of supreme creator of the universe, well, let's just say I am very skeptical.

Atheism is the proposition that there are no gods. It is not a "faith" in the classic sense of the word, but it is certainly a "belief" since there is no way to prove a negative.

It is a lack of faith, because a non-belief is the same thing. There is no faith that God exists.

Atheism is the lack of belief in the supernatural, and a rejection of religion and theism. Atheists don't believe in gods, devils, demons, angels, gnomes, fairies, the New York Yankees or the Easter Bunny.
