waste of time and money. do what i did about 17 years ago. buy a mr. boston book and study it. then lie about your experience as a bartender so you'll get hired. (that's if your the sort that works well under pressure). hop behind that bar and fly by the seat of your pants. all bars have cheat sheets back there anyway and if not, bring your little red book with you - no one will think any less of you if you do.
in most bars, restaurants and clubs, experience is your license. just because you go to school to learn does not mean you know what you are doing. most places don't want to have someone coming in presuming they know anything about the business just because they passed a written test on memorized drinks, only to have to completely retrain you how to really do it. they may even resent you for it.
by the way, with in about 4 years after that first job that i weasled my way into, i was behind one of the busiest bars in the orlando area and was already a certified corporate trainer for a major chain.

In Indiana you need a liquor license to sell mix or serve alcoholic beverages, never heard of a bartenders license though.

Kind of an oxy moron. To get one, you have to go to Bartending School. But if you do and list that as a qualification, almost all bars, clubs and restaurants will laugh at you. Good to have but don't say you have one without a few years experience to back you up.
