I rcently downloaded limewire(not limewire PRO) after I heard that it had 100% free music downloads. I've downloaded about 20 something songs and that's when I hear from some people that it's illegal. My cousin was the one who told me about it which is funny because he's never been in trouble or anything. I don't want to get sued or anything like that. Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Using Limewire or any P2P program is not illegal in and of itself. Using it to download (or supply for download) any music, program, or other work that has not been declared as public domain is illegal.

Downloading music without paying for it is a violation of international copyright law, punishable by a fine of $750.00 - $150,000.00 per song illegally downloaded or shared. There's info on copyright law at http://www.chillingeffects.org/piracy/faq.cgi

Limewire has been sued for allowing massive illegal activity on their network, and based upon previous supreme court decisions they're expected to lose. The RIAA has filed lawsuits against over 20,000 people for illegal sharing and downloading of music.

Lots of people do it, but that doesn't make it legal or right. When you steal music, the creator doesn't get paid. If they don't get paid for their music, they have to do something else so that they can pay their bills, which means the loss of their musical talent. Piracy hurts musicians and music fans both.

Here are the facts:

-) Sharing is NOT stealing. Sharing is sharing.
-) Of course they will tell you it IS stealing. They want your $$$.
-) Music industry is afraid of sharing (they might not get your $$$)

I don't care if they get it or not. Get this, losers! I am not your $$$ slave, & whatever I buy, I can do whatever I like with it, because if I can't, I will sue the bastards for truth in advertising for LYING to me that I bought it (when really they are renting?).

GET IT STRAIGHT, YOU BALDHEADED CROOKS!!!

My music is NOT yours, & I will never support music industry dipping their fat greedy palms into my pocket every time I want to use music that either me or my friends PAID for!!!

Who cares if you lost a milllion $$$ (down from 800 million? LoL)

There are actually people who are poor & need the $$$ far worse than you insipient sneaky legal robbers.

Download Ares, hey, it's free to use & free of spyware.

Downloads music, games, pictures, etc.

Don't let the music industry control what you do with what you own. Take a stand, take a stand, take a stand.

Hit the bastards right where it hurts. In their wallet. Tell them to roll another bloint, cause whatever crack they smokin must be good stuff!

LoL !!!

As long as their policy states it is not illegal, it can be used as proof. Plus already millions of people use P2P programs (which are programs like limewire) to download stuff.

Pretty much. But you should be more concerned about virus's. It is loaded with them and you can get them from the downloads as well. Make sure you scan the files after you down load them before opening. Or use the service link below. It's 9 cents a song and no bugs. I use it because torrents, limwire etc are so loaded with bugs. I build and repair PC's.
