The best I can do for you is Hebrews 9:27 "And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment". I see nothing about waiting or what not. Sorry, I'll have to research the subject a bit more before I can really say much more.
But think about this though. If you read revelation, the souls of the saints and martyrs are in Heaven before Judgment Day.

Mediator,
I can not locate it at this moment but from what I have read in the past, we are ALL judged at the Judgment when Christ returns. At that time, the BOOks will be opened and all will face the Judgment. Those of the Old Testament times will be judged from their Book and those from the New Testament will be judged from it. Have a great evening and a wonderful weekend.
Thanks,
Eds
EDIT...
Sarah,
The Bible does not "stump everyone". Many just don't take the time to read and study it as they generally should be doing. It is not a comic book. We need to spend an adequate amount of time working on it each and every day.

When you take your last breath, God judges whether you go to heaven or hell and your spirit immediately goes to one place or the other, while the body returns to dust. Then, there are 2 judgements in the future. For the unsaved, whose spirits are in hell after death, they will be resurrected after the 1000 yr Millenium to appear at the Great White Throne Judgement. Only the unsaved get judged here and will have to give an account for everything in their lives only to hear the Lord say to them: "Depart from me, I never knew you". Then they, hell, satan, the antichrist, and false prophet are cast into the lake of eternal fire for eternity. The other judgement in the future is only for the saved who've been raptured to heaven before the tribulation on earth. It's not to determine where we will spend eternity, as some have already gone to heaven, but it's the rewards judgement called The Bema Judgement seat of Christ. There we will receive rewards for our works done for Christ on earth. Hope this clarifies things. This is all in the book of Revelation.

But meistro, Isn't judgement day a metafor for the meeting of God?
Isnt it when you meet God face to face and you realize how imperfect you really are in comparison to Him? So that your conscience condemns you - Like the bible saying, "God Im not worthy to receive you".
This is what happens on judgement day. No? And don't people meet God soon after they die?
Or do they wait for the end of the world to meet him?
*But let me refer you to a catholic encyclopedia for a more complete answer.

Think about this -- God is outside of time. To him, all time is one moment.
When you die, your soul leaves time. So all people, from the outside point of view, die at the exact same time.
Following that, assuming you believe in a judgement day (I don't, but following the logic), when we die we are immediately before God along with everyone else who has died 'before' and 'after' us, because we would be in a place where time has no meaning.

An apostate is one that at as quickly as and OUTWARDLY exhibits that he opposes real worship, and each little thing it stands for. If a JW purely, "leaves", and is not a JW anymore, he's not an apostate. that right might desire to make tries to oppose/ruin real worship and act out against it. THEN they are seen apostates. you will possibly be able to or would possibly not comprehend this, yet apostates have been around in Jesus' day and did do very various injury in the direction of the Christian congregation. Jehovah says that whoever is touching "you" (concerning his followers) is touching my eyeball. If an apostate is attempting to degrade the witnesses, Jehovah's human beings, he will deliver his vengence upon them at, sure, Armageddon. God won't instruct his love for them because of the fact they are UNREPENTANT. Apostates won't exchange, and adjust to God's approaches. So, for the sake of being just to the human beings who're doing solid, the human beings who're following Jehovah, Jehovah will do away with the apostates, so as that the international can ultimately be crammed with righteous human beings, as is his promise in Psalm 37:10,11. the only selection if an apostate will survive Armageddon or not isn't as much as Jehovah, he's already set the wide-unfold, that is as much as the apostate to be keen to alter and repent. in maximum circumstances, he/she would be waiting to not try this. He/She does not think of Jehovah will relatively kill them, he/she might not think of Armageddon is coming. despite he/she thinks, Jehovah will look after them interior the main purely way conceivable.

yes, when we die. we are individually judged. but when Christ returns, we will be judged according to the Book of Life and will be decided whether we go to heaven with Christ or stay on Earth for God's wrath.
