Ever heard of the Ebola virus? I'd like to see you praise your intelligent, impervious immune system after 3 days of infection when you're bleeding out of every oriface.. Including your eyes.
Christian guy- Bacteria have been around for longer than mankind. FACT. They will be around LONG after we are gone. (People talk about man being the most dominant, influential organism on the planet, what absolute rubbish. You couldn't even write down how many bacteria in the world in a figure, as it would take weeks and weeks). They shaped this earth when they transformed the sulphur from this early planet into oxygen.
In my opinion micro-organisms are more essential to our survival on the planet than God himself is.

I concurr. As a Christian, I am very thankful to Him that he gave us such a wonderful gift. Now for those people who are infected with AIDS, they don't seem to share my views. (lol... now I feel guilty)
However, from the atheist perspective, it's all a matter of an organism becomming more and more complicated over time through gradual change. Adaptation after adaptation led to our sophisticated immune system.
Cheers ^_^

viruses aren't organisms by the way, they're not even alive. just strands of dna that affect the mitosis genes within a cell....
whether or not they came about as the bi-product of something is debateable, but my immune system's fine, so I'm thankful...

Tell that to my sisters who are both suffering with auto immune diseases.
Your "intelligent designer" couldn't even design a body that wont attack and kill itself...

Here is the Christian answer, which I don't expect you to accept: Before sin entered the world, there was no need for protection against harmful organisms, because they didn't exist. It was a perfect world, with no disease, no crime, no hate, no weeds, no death.

Our bodies would have been perfect & unflawed if Adam & Eve had not disobeyed. We started out perfect and then we screwed it up. God is not responsible for the asinine decision that Eve made.......................her personal choice & listening to satans lie is what did us all in..............God is not responsible.....................<>< <><
