Why Do Christians leave out most of the book they claim is so vital to their faith? The Old Testament is just as important as the New. Jesus came and set an example. the way he lived his life is the way we should live our lives. But most Christians dont because that would mean they had to obey the Old Testament. isnt it sad there are actualy very few true Christians?

The titles "Old Testament" and "New Testament" make life confusing for many Christians. It would appear as if the "Old" was out of date and we should follow the "New"

I prefer the Hebrew Aramaic texts and the Christian Greek Texts as all are important. By missing out the words "old" and "New" that barrier is eliminated

There are very true Christians, yes. As I understand it, the Old Testament's laws were reformed by Jesus. The "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" maxim was replaced with "love they neighbor". The Old Testament can be viewed like the Articles of Confederation for the United States. They were great, worked for a time, but needed revision.

Jesus clarified much of the OT. The law of love has replaced the law of death. Those laws were made for men, not men for the laws, and Jesus made that abundantly clear. Some laws were given for the hardness of our hearts, and we'd make ourselves ridiculous if we still tried to obey them...for instance, if a man rapes my daughter, I damn sure don't intend to sell her to him. I didn't sacrifice any animals when my kids were born, or any other time...do you think I should have? Jesus is my perfect sacrifice, and I love Him.

The whole bible is Gods commandment for how we are to live . He died on the cross because there was no eternal mercy in the blood of animal sacrifices for sins .

there are many true Christans, its just, by the work of man, those books have been changed and re-made to fit the thoughts of men. some of the religiouse books have been made under God, etited under man. and man are not perfect, thus mistakes entered the systems.

I am not sure wich part of the O.T. you are referring to. there are many laws we do not need to obey because of the finished work of Christ.

When caught thumbing through a Bible, W. C. Fields was asked, "What are you doing?"

The master comedian replied, "Looking for loopholes."

If you scour the Bible, you can find something that can be tortured to mean what you want the Bible to say.
