I'm a 22 yr old female virgin.I just can't seem to let the penis penetrate me and tear my hymen, it hurts like crazy. I recently saw a gynecologist who did a pelvic exam with his finger,...or at least he tried to, because as soon as he stuck it in slowly, I squirmed and took it out, it hurt me! Weird, because he barely went in, but I couldn't take it. Why am I so tense, why does it hurt? He took tests and said that everything was fine, that my vaina was normal, so how come it hurts to have intercourse, or even put one little finger?

PS When my fiancé and I are about to have intercourse, I wet extremely, so I have no problem with lubricants. Even though I'm really wet, it still hurts when the penis touches.

Hmm well I'm in a biological aspects of sexuality class, and we learned something but I dont' know if it applies. Since you are still a virgin, it could just be that your muscles aren't used to being stretched. Pain is normal for the tearing of the hymen because it is a membrane that your fiance does have to push through.
When you went to the doctor, did you ask why it was so painful? Could it be that you were nervous because when you are nervous or anxious or anything like that, your muscles will involuntarily tense up. There is also a condition called vaginismus where, when your fiance tries to enter you, your opening closes so tightly that sex is difficult. It is also happens with muscle contractions in the vagina too.

It could also be the angle in which he is trying to enter you. Just relax, take a deep breath and encourage him to go slowly for your benefit!

OK...At the mouth of the vagina there are muscles and just like every muscle, if it is not worked or used to being worked, it hurts. Listen, in case no one told you girls do not enjoy sex for at least the first 10 times...why? Cos it hurts. And, no, you are not going to have an orgasm either. So, if you really want to do this, you are just gonna have to suck it up and believe me it's worth it.
But...vagina is very sensitive, so fingers? Not a good idea. Also, condoms? Not a good idea. (I presume you are on the birth control pills and since he's your fiance, you trust him so condom will hurt more than without it)

Either way, it's going to hurt, it's going to take a couple of tries so just have patience, and think of the long term rewards. Most importantly, do NOT get nervous...when you get nervous, your muscles tighten and then you have no chance and it hurt like hell. Relax! Good luck!

Have you ever been molested? That can be a big factor. Anyways it sounds like your man is a good and patient man. It will happen. Your Dr should have talked about this with you.
