Why are there so many "christians" on here bashing people who are gay? I am a straight woman who was raised a christian but I have also been taught to love and support fellow human beings. What happened to Judge not lest ye be judged? I honestly would like to know why people need to spread so much hate? Isn't it our Heavenly Father's job to decide who has lived a good life?

The Bible condones homosexuality. That's all.

What makes me confused is that even though homosexuality is considered to be a sin, everyone sins. So what makes their sins better than homosexuality?

Because maybe they don't like gay people. I don't know what happened to judge not lest ye be judged. Because some people like to spread the hate and other people like to spread the love. No it is the Heavenly Father's job to love everyone no matter if they are gay or not.

Religion is in general decline, due largely to advances in science. Religion needs a scapegoat to blame for its decline. They can't go after atheists anymore, because we're louder and have better lawyers, Communists are pretty much gone, and since gays are largely marginalized anyway, they're "IT." They have the convenience of an obscure and easily misinterpreted piece of scripture to justify their hatred: "God says it's wrong!"
If you'll notice, it's mostly men who attack homosexuals, and it's usually because they are afraid they are gay themselves, or of being perceived as gay. It's really pretty pathetic. I'm not gay, and what they do in private is none of my business. Some of the things we heterosexuals do in private can be pretty revolting, too, so I fail to see where anyone has the right to feel superior. Given religion's record over the past 2000 or so years, it's in no position to feel superior, either.

i haven't seen any posts from christians that have been rude or harsh towards homosexuals. but christians are supposed to spread the good news and help people refrain from sin. homosexuality is a sin and should not be tolerated,i am speaking of the fornication aspect. i could not care less if you are gay or straight but the fact remains the fornication is a sin, aside from that same sex marriages should never be acceptbale either,as a christian you need to be solid on this and not wavering. true we need acceptance and tolerance but not on things pertaining to sin for our benefit and for societys benefit-are we to be accepting and tolerant for murder?abortion etc....no we shouldn't and can't.

Just for the record...

I'm Christian, I have been for my entire life.. and I'm straight... and I dont hate homosexuals, I have friends who are homosexuals. My mother even has friends who are homosexuals... and my mum's as straight as straight can be...
Mum was raised a Christian too...

so dont automatically think that just because we're Christian that we hate homosexuals, because we dont.
We hate the act, not the person.

I'm a Christian and It is not my place to judge Gay people, I know the bible says God doesn't like homosexuals but the bible also says the bible is flawed. (Due to the scribes). Gay people don't bother me as long as they keep themselves to themselves. However, I once had one spying on me through a hole in the wall while i was using a public toilet, and it wasn't a nice experience when I saw him looking at me.

If Jesus Christ told you homosexuality was sin, would you call Him a gay basher?
Jesus said it would be easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter of the Law to fail. (Luke 16:17
The Law says: "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."
(Leviticus 18:22)
Now if Jesus says homosexuality is a sin, and sin damns the soul, are you showing love to someone by telling them there is nothing wrong with them when Jesus says there is something wrong?
If your father was a drunkard, would you be loving him by telling him "O never mind, lots of people are drunkards, just go along and have a good time."
It really comes down to this, whether you want to obey God, or please people. I choose to obey God.

Jesus said reproving words to religious hypocrites. The Bible says to be angry and sin not. As a believer I always remember what Billy Graham said many years ago that "God hates the sin but love the sinner". This is why God sent his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to die for sinners, which is all of us. None of us here on earth is born sinless.

I'm a Christian, and I try to love everyone. I don't think being gay is right, but I don't hate people who are. I just don't believe it's right. Jesus loves everyone, and Christians should too!

we don't hate them we hate homosexuality, not the people. It even says in the Bible that homosexuality is wrong.

please don't use the "they can't help it, they were born that way" arguement. Homosexuality is a practice. By God's standards, if you don't believe it's okay, don't condone it and don't practice it, even if you're attracted to the wrong gender you're straight. Desires don't make the sinner, giving into them does.

it's not that we hate them, it's that we disapprove of their beliefs. technically homosexuals, adulterers, fornicators, etc, even theft and lying are equal. you hate the sin, not the sinner.

and God told us who gets in to Heaven or not, and on what grounds. it can't hurt to be informed.

You are absolutely correct. Jesus taught us to love our neighbors. Some of our neighbors are homosexuals. Those that hate in the name of Christ are turning the Gospel message of peace and love on its head. Doing the opposite of Christ but doing it in His name is truly anti-christian. Such people make others hate to even hear the name of Jesus. You tell me which Lord they serve then? Peace be with you
