Go to a professional piercer and ask them to help you. Nostril piercings shouldn't be done with a straight stud or nose bone, it causes too many healing problems for a majority of the people. Also, the irritation you can cause by trying to get the jewelry out won't help, I'm sure you've realized that.
You can't leave the jewelry in there, and I can't see the are to know for sure, but if re-piercing is necessary, it won't be nearly as bad as when you got the piercing done in the first place. Good luck.

Depending on how long you've had the pierce, it may have just collapsed at that end of the channel, and simply running a thin stretching taper will fix the problem. Talk to your piercer (soon if its a fresh piercing), and try a different piece of jewelry. Straight bars shouldn't be used in a nostril pierce by the way...they tend to either scratch the inside of the septum (if too long), or slide easily toward the end of healing (and can slide out). Switch to a captive ring, circular barbell, or a nostril screw to keep from having problems in the future.

Go back to the shop. Period. They should give you a screw, which will GREATLY help with the healing and prevent this from happening again.
Don't try to "repierce" it yourself, as you're just going to cause more damage to your nose and doing that over and over again won't EVER allow the piercing to heal.
The shop you had it done at should realize the mistake and either offer to fix it for you for free or charge a small fee for the screw, if they don't offer at least SOMETHING, goto a different shop, because that one obviously isn't very good if they'd put your piercings well-being below their shop profit.

Have it removed! That happened to mine when I had it done and if you let it close over you can get a very very bad infection because the stud is a foreign object and your body will try to force it out. I had to have a tetnas shot because I hadn't had one in forever so go to your doctor, you may be refered to an eye, ear and nose specialist for it since they see it more than a general physician. But most of all, do NOT just leave it in there. Make sure you can still push the gem back up so that it can't close in around the top, you will have to have an actually surgery at that point if it gets too closed. SEE A DOCTOR!

i would just go back to the shop you got it let then know what is happening and they should replace it if not just purchase a corkscrew one or whatever they recommend. you shouldnt need repiercing! with nose rings they will fall out at night rip when snmeeezing and all kinds of things and if will feel healed on one side by morning when you realize it but it really doesnt hurt much to just pop it bak through! dont poke at it and stuff though or it WILL swell so just get a longer one or srew like one and enjoy!!

Go here : http://www.safepiercing.org
Find a piercer that knows what they are doing, and go to them. Piercers that pierce with nose bones are crazy in my book. Those things drive me bonkers, and if I had a dollar for every time someone has come to me for a jewelry change and I have had to get the ******* things out with a pair of wire snips......ggggrrrrrr.......
If you're in Illinois, I can help you, other then that, go to one of the APP piercers.
Sorry about the rant.

"re-pierce" it, it's probebly not as healed as you think. Get a sharp stud and force it through. It'll probebly hurt for a few seconds but you'll get over it.
