He said he wants me to be (the one). I dont think this answer is good enough for me. So i broke up with him Tuesday night. Did i do the right thing?

Yes you did.....if something isn't right for you [despite what it is for others] then you need to be true to yourself above all else & do what's right for you.........I think he lacks the ability to be honest with you so skirts around the answer like a politition. Not a good sign at all. I think you did the right thing actually.
You'd soon know whether you did the wrong thing anyhow.....he'd be knocking your door down begging for another chance by now.........is he?

Depends. It was probably an honest answer. It takes time to know if someone is "the one" Even when I was dating my present husband I "knew" and he "knew" that we would probably be getting married some day. But you have to see how people act and react in different situations. How you each feel about religion, politics, children and many many other things. Depends on how long you have been together. Also men like to do the asking. If he is not ready there is nothing you can do to make him ready

I think you made your move too soon. All he was saying is that the future cannot be predicted. Something might happen to cause his feelings or yours to change and in doing so the relationship ends. However, if it was not good enough for you, you were right in letting it go.
