I know that Salat Al-Istakhara consists of two Rakahts, but when do I read the Dua. After Salam or before Salam? I am sorry, but I can't just take an answer, I need proof. Is there any Hadith or Ayah in the Quran that said how to do this?

PS I don't want to hear any rude comments about the Quran, Islam, or Prophet Mohammad(SAW). Any rude comments will be reported.

To everyone else Jazakum Allah Khair

O Allah, I ask You to show me what is best, through your knowledge, and I ask You to empower me, through Your power, and I beg You to grant me Your tremendous favour, for You have power, while I am without power, and you have knowledge while I am without knowledge, and You are the One who knows all things invisible.

O Allah, if You know that this undertaking is in the best interests of my religion, my life in this world and my life in the hereafter and can yield successful results in both the short term and the long term, then make it possible for me and make it easy for me and then bless me in it.

If not, then turn it away from me, and make it easy for me to do well, wherever I may happen to be, and make me content with Your verdict, O Merciful of the merciful.

…after saying the above dua, then he should mention a name, his difficulty and his need.

Say it anytime! =]

assalamu'alaikom...i am sorry, ive tried to find in any hadith or sunnah about your question..i cant find it..its there but i forgot where..

maybe i could share a few of my knowledge about this salat..in any salat, the best way to read the dua is when u sajad..and there are a few opinions from the ulama's about the best moment to read the dua whether before the salam or after the salam..but the best moment is in your sajad..because that is the moment where a slave being most nearest to Allah..as Allah love His slave to sajad to Him..i think it doesnt matter a lot whether u do it before or after as long as u are comfortable and u are khusyu' when u read the dua it os more than enough..but to make u more sure about it,try by looking imam syafie book..he is quite particular about fiqh...so all d best and sorry i cant fulfill ur requirement..
wallahualam..
wasalam..

Hun, I don't think Yahoo answers is the best place to ask people how to do Islamic prayers. Especially if you're asking for daleel.

Try Sunnipath.com or muttaqun.com (Sunnipath is madhabi and muttaqun is salafi). They have eduated people there to answer questions.
