and I just started yesterday(Wed.). Today, when I was in the shower at 5:30 am, I almost blacked out. I had to keep on sitting down to make it go away. Is there a reason for this besides not eating anything (only drinking water)? How can I prevent this? Also, right after that I had two bowls of cerial because I felt weak. Did I mess this up? Please help =]

Hi There

DO a juice fast instead. You get the nutrition you need when you do this. I do 7- 10 juice fasts 5 times a year including a 30 day fast in September. You need a juicer and organic fruits and vegetables (mainly). Juice 25 oz and mix with 25 oz of water 3 times a day. Drink water in between.

This does wonders for the body. It doesn't have to digest any food, which takes a lot of energy and can focus on healing the internal issues (including losing weight). Need some more advice just click on my name and email me.

Best of health to you

hi :)

i fast too, and NO it is NOT unhealthy, and if you do it in a responsible manner it can be EXTREMELY beneficial to your health. (that other person needs to read up on the issue and not spread ignorance)

i have some questions...did you prepare your body for the fast? a sudden deprivation can cause such a sudden loss of blood sugar that you will feel light-headed. but preparing for a water fast by cutting back on regular foods, moving to veggies/fruits and finally juices before starting the water fast will help your body adjust to the shock of not having foods.

do you know enough about your body to know if only water will be ok for you? there are many ways to fast....my favorite is a fresh juice fast, which gives my body excellent nourishment but at the same time gives me ample opportunity to reflect on issues on which i am needing time to reflect. a water fast is excellent for your health for short periods of time; this gives your body time to rest from digestion so it can work on cleansing areas of your body that it normally wouldn't have opportunity to do. if you aren't sure if your body can handle a water fast, maybe try it for a short amount of time once a week, then adding another 12 hours at every fast, til you are up to where you want to be.

what purpose do you have for this fast? sometimes having the goal in mind, and maybe posted up around your living areas, will help you focus and stay on the fast when it gets hard. the first bit of a fast is ALWAYS hard because your body is getting rid of toxins, and it has probably been spoiled by too much food too often.

listen to your body, but don't let it rule your actions. read up and fast responsibly. that way ppl who think you're going to die if you don't get food won't have more ammo, and you'll more likely have a successful fast.

good luck, hon :) ♥

fasting is not the answer to losing weight or trying to be healthy.
You probably came close to blacking out because you didn't have any fuel in you. Fasting will do more harm then good. It puts your body into starvation mode and anything you eat turns into fat because your body thinks your not going to eat for a while. If you are trying to lose weight or get in shape nothing can substitute a good old fashion work out. do some cardio and weight training. there are no shortcuts, because if it were easy everybody would have the body they always dreamed of. Go eat something please.

fasting isnt healthy .. you could possibly die or have to be brought to the hospital .. is there any reason why you are doing this (religious...etc.)?
