I straighten my curly hair once a week and I love my curly hair, but I'm afraid if I straighten it too much then my naturally curly hair will go away. Will this happen?

No, I've never heard of using a straigtener to completely eliminate curls. My hair is curly too, and I usually straighten it with no damage to my curls. If you're still worried, make sure that you use a high quality straightener and heat protectant, like a CHI tourmaline ceramic straightener and CHI products (in the red bottle).

I'm not exactly sure why you straighten your hair if you like the curls, but if it's because of frizz, try using a leave in conditioner and a gel applied to you hair when wet, and then allow it to dry naturally (no blowdryer!!). Try using a wide barreled curling iron on the highest heat setting to maintain your curls and eliminate some of the frizz. Curly hair is pretty, but just really hard to manage!

Good luck -- hope this helps you!! :D

I wish it would! I have VERY curly hair and I would straighten it daily! The curls never went away. In fact, they grew back curlier. The only way to make your curls go away is to apply some type of chemical process. Be aware though that while it may not knock the curls out of your hair, if you don't use the right type of styling product to protect your hair, the heat can damage it.
Hope that helps

Nope - your hair will remain curly, it just may be a bit more damaged/frizzy from the straightening. Condition more & use a straightening balm that will protect your hair.

No! I have curly hair and use a blow dryer and flat iron all the time. It may make your hair more dry and damaged if you do it too much but it will never take away your natural curls!

most of the damage that happens is split ends esp if you dont protect your hair with something. but over straightening can cause the curls to elongate. hope this helps read this on one of the curly hair sites

not that I know of, but you might wanna cut down on the straightening if you love your curls so much.
