I rarely ever tan, and I started using the indoor tanning within this month and have gone about 6 times, working up from 8 mins to now 15mins. Everytime I have gone, I usually use lotion in the am but never have used a sun tan lotion, should I be applying some lotion(tanning lotion) before using. I haven't burned at all, might get a lil red but it goes away the next day.

when I go tonight, should I do anything different, like they have these little containers that are called tingle, and non tingle and see them in the trash cans in the rooms from other users.

I either have just a regular lotion I can put on prior or I have a Neutrogena body oil, light sesame formula, not mine but my gf's and have never used it, so if anyone can help me out before I buy some products what should I do tonight.

I understand the dangers of suntanning in general, and indoor tanning and im messing around this summer doing it and will likely stop due to the long term damage from UVA/UVB rays

If I did it this summer only, I am causing damage for the rest of my life, like will I have all the wrinkles and all the other negatives by doing it this summer.

should I put on the neutrogena body oil and go, I really have no idea how this body oil works and what it is for. I am a male getting into skin care :D, and asking all the girls out there how to do it.

I've tried tanning indoors in that cabin and it didnt work so i never went again as it seemed like a waste of money!

On the other hand I've been regularly going to the beach (once a wk) for the last 10 years and tan for about an hour or 2 using a tanning oil with spf 5-10.

I do not have any wrinkles visible and I get a lovely bronze color over the time with a healthy glow on my skin, nothing beats that! I suggest you get exposed to a little sunshine with suncream/ oil and do not worry too much if you choose the right time of the day and dont exceed maximum of 1-2 hours.

Happy tanning : )

Most tanning beds will not allow oil based lotions. It would be best if you bought tanning lotion from the place you are tanning. I do not recommend the tingle kind, the ladies there will know what would be best for you. You should use this at the tanning salon before you get in the tanning bed every time.

Also you do need to be moisturizing at lest once a day. Like after you get out of the shower put on a good body lotion. I do it twice a day, after a shower and in the morning before I get dressed.

Happy Tanning!

Use indoor tanning lotion that the salon sells.
If you're going to be doing 15 min sessions instead of 8 min sessions, then cut down how many times a month u go. Don't go twice a day - too much. After tanning - apply "after sun tanning lotion", or any body lotion if on a budget. Redness after tanning should be gone after 5 minutes - not the next day. You're tanning too long. Neutrogna Body Oil is great after a shower - amazing product .
Use some SPF on your face- always wear tanning goggles.
Take vitamin C daily!

Am I understanding that your tanning twice a day?? And if you understand the dangers of suntanning in general and are going to stop due to the long term damage why are you doing it in the first place?? I used to be a tanner.. (NEVER a twice a day tanner) but a tanner none the less... and I've now had skin cancer for 7 years. Do you want to know what I go through?? let me tell you... I have sections of my skin removed that are "cancerous" with a small contraption that looks like a winecork, or I have it removed with a doctors knife. I've had anywhere from 15 to 20 leasions taken off my body at a time, varying from 1 to 7 stitches a piece... The last time they had to cut 3 seprate times on each of my arms to remove cancer from my skin. Both are as big as a large silver dollar. Because of tanning, I have more scars on my body than I can count.. ONCE you've had a skin cancer bout once, it seems like your body can't ever rid it.. I've had 5 major scares in 7 years...
Do you want to be like me?? or even close to me??

Then keep tanning.. and have a nice summer.

Your better off using the sunless tanning lotion. It makes your skin feel good and does not give you cancer in the long run. Plus its cheaper.
