Is the California State Athletic Commission in the UFC's pocketbooks? Deigo Sanchez KO'd Joe Riggs on 12/13/2006, in the post fight drug tests he tested posative for marijuana but the report never saw the light of day until recently, why? When Nick Diaz, Mike Pyle and Joe Pearson tested posative for marijuana it was in on all the MMA websites within a week but for some strange reason, Deigo "the UFC posterboy" Sanchez's test results were swept under the rug for 3 full months. He was given a very light punishment, a 3-month suspension (which is the normal law-off of a profession mixed-martial artist anyways) and a $500 fine. The light sentence can be attributed to the fact that it was under the California State Athletic Commission and not the Neveda SAC, as California has been much more lax on the issue overall, but the fact that it was not reported leads me to believe that since Sanchez is such a rising star in the UFC that they attempted to bury story and were nearly successful!

I am a fan of Diego as well as for the legalization of marijuana so Im not bashing either issue I am just curious as to how deep the UFC pocketbooks are and how willing they are to protect their stars.
