If science were able to prove anything about religion, there would be no debate left. That's kind of the point, that religion is outside of the scientific sphere.

Should you use science to prove your religion? - NO! And yes, it is pointless to even try to disprove religion, specifically Christianity, with science.
Science is a gift from a God. This is what man has to remember. It is a gift of wisdom, of intellect. It is something that we are given to put into good use. Hence, innovations with technology, transportation, medication, etc. It has helped us survive and to adapt.
So far science have backed up the events that were written in the Bible, science had strenghtened what Christians claim/believed to have truly happened. Science have in no particular time find something to disprove religion.
Religion is a belief, a faith, IT DOESN'T NEED PROOF.

I agree with you 100% for the first paragraph. For the second one: I think that a lot of the bible is figurative and not meant to be taken literally and scientifically. EX: the creation story--world made in 6 days. How long is a day for God? You have to take some of the Bible in a certain context. I do not think that science rebukes the Bible; I think that the two coexist. Science tests one's faith, but it does not dispute religion. Everything about this world makes us question our faith. Ideally from a Christian perspective, people should find and hold on to faith.

No, science disproves most religious claims. Christianity has been disproven by science many times. Christianity in general usually gets people that claim to be scientists to claim science proved them right. This way they can discredit science in general.
If you attack the root of your problem then you have made head-way. The root of science is truth.
If you want to believe the world was created 6000 years ago and man just suddenly popped into existance then go ahead, but don't try and tell me that I shouldn't believe science because science uses logic and religion uses magic to explain things.

Before science discovered that the earth is round, this was already mentioned in the bible. All things has its own purpose that science may explain further. While the bible speaks for all mankind, science compliments its validity.

Science is the method for obtaining knowledge through observation, discussion, and reason. Faith is often said to be an alternative means for obtaining knowledge. Faith's adherents usually attempt to make their case by pointing out that science and human reason are fallible; therefore, they tell us, faith picks up where science leaves off, where science cannot tread.

Nobody is using science to disprove anything, it simply looks for truth, to give us humans the most comfortable life.
Example: Muslims, who believed in Allah during the Middle Age were the greatest scientists at the time. Without those Islamic scientists, we would still be living with pigs by now

I'm not always trying to disprove religion thru science, I'm always trying to defend by ideals from religion's persecution.

Science wants to be God. Plain and Simple. IF science proved God didn't exist, then most of us would humbly bow to the Scientist. We would call them a committee of gods. But these men aren't perfect. They make mistakes. And should the ego of "I am a God" run through his brain, can you imagine the abuse of power(Force) they could use? How many of us would be "Slaves?" How many would die at their hands because they simply refused to follow along? (Think hard about that one.) Doesn't this sound a bit... Oh I don't know...ANTI-CHRIST?

Science is just like religion. It has yet to prove much of anything. The science of yesterday turns out to be false today, the science of today will be proven false tomorrow. I think both sides are way off
