That's why Texas is the Wild Boar Capital of the World. Wild pig populations are exploding. They are currently in 31 states and are expected to establish populations in all mainland states in the next 10 years. A pig population can increase five-fold in a year. They are also a huge nuissance.
What does this mean? Wild pigs are becoming the next white tailed deer. It's a great opportunity for us to go get some bacon.

Feral pigs can breed from the age of 7–12 months, and usually produce one or two litters of about six piglets each year.
Now with this info do the math, what does next year look like?
It takes as little as 7 months for a female to start reproducing at a rate of 2 litters per year and 6 or more off spring per litter.
That will devastate the habitat of all wildlife soon.
That why I shoot on sight, when it comes to feral pigs.
Link attached for some insight on the species.

That my opinion.

Yes, although I thing there count maybe a little low in the US I would say there is probably closer to 6.5 million or even 7.

I've seen that many in one cornfield as the sun was coming up.
Yep, back in our day, there were so many hogs, you could walk from horizon to horizon on their backs without touching the ground. They would be piled up so thick, we'd load our rifles up with three foot long steel rods instead of bullets....and when you shot one, you'd skewer three of them side by side all ready for the cooking fire.

I've never seen them, but I don't live down there. My brother sees them all the time, while deer hunting, so I would believe it.
