David, I am not sure where you got those stats, but you look aw-full young. I am 47 and started smoking when I was 13yrs. I now am trying desperately to quit. I have severe peripheral vascular disease. I now have 11 stents, and a lot of it pertains to smoking.
Believe me I know you can't see down the road, but let me tell you. I have always loved to dance, and all outdoor sports. I can now walk only 3 minutes on the tread mill with out having to stop from severe pain in my legs. And it is HELL to quit.
So if I had a magic wand, I would wave it over you and all young people to give it up now, before it is to late.
You are such a cutie, it is going to be ashame that you will have wrinkles that normally you wouldn't had if not for nicotine.
And oh! how good you would smell
Later,
Lilli

My father in law died from lung cancer due to smoking and if you have never seen someone die from cancer then you should go visit someone dying of lung cancer and see if this is a way you would like to die. You will be extremely short of breath and will waste away. It is very hard for your loved ones to see you go through this. Words cannot explain how horrible it is. My father in law would never admit that smoking can cause cancer. He denied it for years and years and was a huge "smokers rights" activist. You know, he finally admitted he had been wrong a few days before he died. He had emphysema many years before the cancer got him also. Imagine being short of breath for 20 years before the cancer gets you. It may be your choice, but if you are smart you will chose not to smoke or to quit if you have already started. Why do something that you know is going to harm you and it can be avoided?

Ah, a big NO to that one. If you ever see someone with lung cancer you'll change your mind. And, it doesn't descriminate...young people (some who never smoked) are diagnosed every day. The treatment is horrible. Not to mention smoking smells, is expensive and really not cool like it was thought to be many years ago.

Are you retarded? You might not die from it, but you'll smell, your skin and hair will look like crap, you'll have trouble breathing as you get older . . .

My grandpa quit smoking before I was even born. He died about a month before my 25th birthday. Want to know what killed him? Pneumonia -- a complication from his emphysema, which he developed WHEN HE WAS A SMOKER!

I remember once he got excited because he could walk to the end of the driveway, which is about 25 feet long. And that was two years before he died.

Is that something you want to look forward to? You may not die, but you'll suffer. Don't be retarded.

Don't smoke dude! If you haven't started you won't have to worry about stopping. Besides smoking is an expensive habit, that's what alot of people tell me they dislike about being smokers, beyond the fact that it's slowly killing them.

So if you want to smart smoking, and you don't care about your health, atleast consider your wallet!

I'm not familiar with that statistic, but if you are going to take risks, take them for better reasons than oral gratification. Learn to skydive, fly a hang glider, surf the boomers at Makaha, become a policeman of a firefighter. The list is endless, but you get my point I hope.

Of course, if you want to die. Would you buy a lottery ticket if you had a one-third chance of winning?
