2 kilometers = 2000 meters

time = distance / velocity or 2000 meters / 0.25 m/s

time = 8000 seconds

60 seconds / minute

time = 8000 seconds / 60 seconds/minute

time = 133.33 minutes ( or 2 hours 13.33 minutes)

since speed is given in terms of m/s
2 kilometers = 2000 meters

time = distance / velocity
time = 2000 meters / 0.25 m/s

time = 8000 seconds

since 60 seconds =1 minute

time = 8000 seconds / 60 seconds/minute

time = 133.33 minutes ( or 2 hours 13.33 minutes)

This is a math question NOT an environmental question try a different location eh.

But to help you out lava will never flow at a constant speed as their are too many variables. The land that it is flowing over is not constant so your question is not gonna work.

lava moving at .25meters per second
2000 meters = 2 kilometers/.25meters=8000seconds
8000 seconds / 60 seconds of a minute =133 minutes
133 minutes /60 minutes in the hour = 2.21 hours (decimal)
2 hours 13 minutes

.25m/s = 1 meter in 4 seconds
2 kilometers = 2000 meters
4 seconds per meter X 2000 meters = 8000 seconds
8000 seconds / 60 seconds per minute = 133.33333 minutes

I think you need to do your own homework, but I will give you a hint.

Distance = velocity X time. You know the velocity (its in meters/second) and the distance (its in kilometers). So do the math. You do know how many meters are in a kilometer and how many seconds in a minute don't you?

Sorry to be so tough, but how else will you learn.

it's a trick question. in hawaii, they do not measure time in minutes and they do not live in homes. they measure time in coconuts and live in huts. a reasonable answer would be that they three coconuts to flee their house.
