36 degree banking!! 0.5333 miles. im a pretty big dork i know, but i grew up in Bristol and have season tickets to the August race. when i was a kid, we had events in the track and i got to climb the banking and it was tough! at least for a 10 year old.

I did some searching and came up with this:
In an interview with Stock Car Racing's Larry Cothren, driver Ryan Newman openly disputed the measurement of the banking of Bristol Motor Speedway's turns. Newman's crew measured the banking during a test session to aid with setups, and found that the turns were banked 26 degrees, rather than the advertised 36 degrees.

yes as a season ticket holder for 17 years now i can tell you without a doubt it is 36 degree banking in the turns 16 degree in the straightaways and the front and back stretch if 650 feet . if you dont belive me go to nascar .com or bristol motorspeedway .com

90 on turn 1 180 on turn 2 & 3 360 on tunn 4 been there seen it woops that was the roaler coaster i was on race tracks are round with 30 banking

36 is right for now. But that's all about to change. After this race they are going to resurface the track and go to a graduated banking. Should be interesting for the night race.
