Yes, a one-year-old cat can get crystals, and stones, and urinary infections, and it definitely sounds like your cat has one or more of those problems. You'll need to take her to the vet for testing, because the treatment varies depending on what the problem is, and there's no way a vet can tell what the problem is without testing the cat's urine. If it's crystals or stones, the treatment is different than if it's an infection. Please go ahead & take her to the vet. You're right that cats hide their symptoms - it's great that you're observant enough to notice her frequent litterbox trips and catch the problem before it gets worse and makes her very ill. I hope she's better soon!

Urinary tract infections can occur in cats of any age, you need to get her to the vet for proper diagnosis and treatment. Not peeing means she's already critical. She may be playing but you're right, cats are good at hiding illness.

When a cat cannot void its bladder it is a medical EMERGENCY. The cat can die within 48 hours and since you just noticed this you don't know how long it has been going on.
Infections are rare in urinary blockages and it is the blockage that is the emergency. You should get the cat to a vet RIGHT NOW.

Take her to the vet! My kitty almost died of kidney failure, he had a urinary tract infection and had a blocked tube by a crystal. Take her as soon as possible before it gets any worse, These things can get bad real fast.

This is an EMERGENCY! If your cat is trying to pee, but can't, she could be blocked with stones or crystals (common for cats). Her urine will continue to build up, and her bladder could rupture (worst case scenario), or her kidneys could fail (really bad too). Take her to a vet right away!

Make sure he has plenty of fresh water in several places and change it twice a day, if possible.
If you are feeding him dry food, change to something a little more moist for a few days.
Keep him inside for a few days and make sure he is not nibbling on house plants which may not be good for him.
If he doesn't get better in a day or too, get him to the vet, don't wait too long.

I wouldn't be concerned unless it is a full 24 hours without anything. When it reaches 48 hours it is time to take your cat to the vet.

I wouldn't give your cat anything unless your vet looks at her, just to make sure that is the problem. take her in and have her checked out.
