My 2 1/2 year old son vomits for no apparent reason. He has no fever and is usually playing with his toys when it happens. After he vomits he goes back to playing and wants something to eat. Any ideas why?

Have you checked your son for reflux? Is he putting toys in his mouth gagging himself. Talk to his Doc about it.

hi there, my daughter is also two and a half and ive noticed the same problem with her. She would wake up at night and vomit, no temperature either. This could happen 3 nights in a row and she would go back to sleep fine afterwards. She also does this if she is very excited and playing and running alot. We go to the local indoor play area and she has been sick there 3 times!! i think it may just be excitment and too much running about! I found when I stopped giving her milk before going to bed and during the night she stopped the vomiting at night time. His tummy could have a low tolerance to some foods. Cheese and milk i find lay heavy on their stomachs. If you get very concerned take him to your doctor. Good luck

Acid rflux mine had it and would spit up and go about playing. It stoped around 3 and havent had any problems with it. We tryed feeding him and letting him rest after eating for about 1hr watch a movie/tv and that seemed to help it some. Dont give him big meals break it down throught you the day and try to follow food with a cracker or peice of bread that can help too.

I took my child to the Doctor for similar reason, and they mentioned it's worth ruling out craneal pressure. Test done by MRI, at their age under gen.anesthesia, but initially, they will check his/her blood pressure, vision, headaches?, balance, and vomiting pattern, if it's morning and night, or during the day. also, pinched/twisted intestine can be checked by Xrays. i'm sure is none of these, but it doesnt hurt to mention to doctor and rule these out. good luck!

Has he done this since birth? He could be experiencing a food sensitivity or allergy or reflux. Check with your doctor.

Not to be mean, but why do people ask questions like this?
You would rather take a stranger's advice than take your child to the doctor?
