Many do not really believe that what the Bible says is true or that it applies to them in whole or in part.
The remainder don't believe the Bible so much as the opinions of church leaders, preachers or priests.
Wish I had made a note; but not long ago I read an article which said that the Bible is no longer the best seller it once was. It has been out paced by books about the Bible and books about the Christian life.
What man on earth, if you broadcast anothers opinion of his word, ignore his word, reject his word or twist his word, is going to have any respect for you? What happens at best is that man stops speaking with you. It won't be long before your interests turn elsewhere. What then is left but tradition and opinion. Let this go for a generation or two and the result is exactly what you see.
Now every man adjusts his opinions to justify or support what he thinks is right. The tendency of every man then is to act or tend to act as if he or she knows most everything. Christians are not the only know-it-alls.
I certainly wish that more people saw what you see. I do not however know how to answer your last question. What more can one do to obey God and what has fear to do with it? We are either obedient or we are not! Perhaps I miss you point.

Most that call themselves "Christian" seem to want life both ways. They think that if they say they be live in God they will have some form of after life in a peaceful place and not a "hot" place. They are not convinced of either but hedge their bets.
They still want all the freedoms that this "worldly society" has to offer, materialism, self-gratification, freedom to do what they want. To fully follow God is just too hard to do as their peers will think they are a Bible Thumper, and they could not have that

The only one with all of the answers is God. As a Christian, it is my duty to do all I can to seek and find the truth. God continues to reveal God's Self to us. This means that the way I find God today may not be the same way other have found God in the past. Obedience means that I do all I can to live a life according to the Scriptures and the teachings of the Church which Jesus has established.

Even though we are created in gods immage, we are not perfect. I cant answer for everyone, but try as we may, mistakes will be made. It is often easier to look in from the outside then to see what is around you. In other words, jusdging yourself is harder than judging others. It's part of being mortal, it is all freedom of choice, and concience and the ability, or lack of it to see your self for who you are. Dont be to harsh on others. Understand that god still loves us imperfect people any way and forgives. Guidance can be offered to those who seek it.
God has the answers, not us.

I am not sure exactly what you are getting at, but I will tell you I do NOT know everything! no way! I am still learning and I only pray for God's wisdom, when reading His word and His knowledge when sharing the truth with others....I want to live FOR HIM!
There is nothing more I would rather do than the will of God--and yes we all fall short, and we who are saved are not near perfect--we all fail--but God works in us daily, and we are renewed in His strength when we come to the throne of grace and HUMBLE ourselves.

This is good question. people go to church and act like a demon the rest of the week. they do not believe in this or that
so willing to judge but as any one can see people are not flocking to the church like they should because there is no real Love there if there was people would be knocking down the doors to get there. this is the reason I do not care to much for organized religion.

My idea is that as humans, we like leadership. Usually, we like someone to be in charge and make the rules. It provides a feeling of safety. Many other species do it as well. Christians just choose a particular leader to be in charge of them.

Its easy for a non believer to just go through life sinning, and sinning, and not even blink an eye. Christians are human to. We have struggles with sin, and when we do sin it bothers us. We know how we should live our lifes thats the thing.

There are many different kinds of Christians with varying degrees of 'commitment' to their faith. Let the crazies rant up a storm if they want, even though it's embarrassing for the rest.
