I'm smelling lead fumes in my sheet metal class, and I'm worried... please help me!?
After I started working for a few days while breathing in small amounts of lead fumes a day, I was starting to get abdomin stomach pain and started losing my appetite to eat. Are these the effects? What should I do to help myself stop breathing in the lead fumes. We're making a small metal tabletop btw. Also, there is no air ventilation except for the small window opening that is not very close to where I am soldering. What should I do?

your health is more important than a class, it's really up to you.

Do you want to pursue your dream as a tabletop maker? or live a healthy life?

As far as I know there is no lead in solder fumes. The smoke is from the flux, either acid or rosin. The solder should not be getting hot enough to vaporize the lead. It's still a good idea to have ventilation as any sort of fumes can be harmful though.

If you are that concerned you should tell your instructor. I work with sheet metal for employment, yes, even solder, and I don't have any adverse effects, to tell you the truth, the smell that you are smelling is probably the acid to clean the material.
