Read that system message as Burn In Test. You probably already know the burn-in phenomenon from TV screens and computer monitors. It's a form of permanent damage to a monitor that occurs when when you display a still image for hours and hours at a time. A trace of the 'burnt-in' image remains permanently visible on the screen.
Technically, this is only called burn-in with old CRT monitors. The same thing with LCD screens is called Image Persistence, and it can also happen with the LCD screen on your camera. Particularly with the picture information in the corners of the screen - these numbers/ letters are (pretty much) the exact same for all pictures, and always displayed in the exact same place.
Perhaps your HP is smart enough to occasionally test for this and shift the file inormation a few pixels to the left or right. That last bit is just a guess, however. (I can't see the point of testing for burn-in if the camera doesn't DO anything with that information.)
