As part of your immune system you have what's called anti-bodies. When your body has an infection, these antibodies will attack the infection and the genetic code of the infection is imprinted in your immune system so the next time this infection enters your body, it can be fought more easily. The problem is that viruses and infectious bacteria are often capable of mutation, so the genetic code differs from what your body's antibodies "remember" That's where antibiotics comes in. It helps your body's immune system fight whatever infection you have. If you don't take all of your prescription, the infection won't die. It will be be weak but then will bounced back and will have mutated so that it will be immune to the antibiotics you just took. Bottom line take your antibiotics as per doctor's instructions even if you start feeling better.

Anti - biotic's help the white blood cells fight off infection. There are some infections that are too powerful for the cells to do it alone, so anti - biotic's were invented to help them along. If you do not finish the recommended dosage, the infection (which might be hiding) can flair up and be stronger than before the meds were taken. So, even if you feel good, the infection might still be lurking. Just take the pills, kill the infection and be happy.

An antibiotic actually kills bad as well as good bacteria in the body. The consequences of not completing the prescription is a recurrence of the bacteria multiplying back to unhealthy levels and have a lapse of the sickness. Always finish the prescribed medication to prevent a recurrence.

If you don't finish the whole course of antibiotics you will not get bettter, your symptoms will return. The anibiotics fight off the infections from your body, in other words they clean all of the germs from your body, but if not taken correctly they will not be able to do their job.
