I added him as a contact, in case that's what this question was for ;)

Celtic Paganism is basically a pagan religion that was widely practiced WAY back in the day. I don't know if people who refer to themselves as Celtic Pagans would agree with me, but Celtic Paganism is a good way of referring to Druidism. Maybe there are differences, I don't know.

Woohoo! I was right! I even knew the part about having to be trained for 20 years or more to become an actual druid. I should have said so, so I could feel even more knowledgeable. haha

as said Celtic Pagan's teacher, and close friend, and possible father figure. i would be honored to anwer this question.

A celtic Pagan is one that followes the Druid Path. and it is out of respect ofr these great men that we do not claim the title as a definition to what we are.

we follow the same gods, and philosophy as the Druids of old. we learn the history and mythology and folklore (history) or these people. we learn the bardic tales and follow within our own homes the way of life that these people lived within the confines of the modern world.

to be a Druid you had to be trained as a Druid By a Druid for many years, 20 at least. you had to know by heart the 15000 year verbal history of the people and have gone through many tests of healing and magic. a druid was an arbitrator of disputes and a keeper of peace just as much as he was a priest of the gods. they were advisors to kings and warriors, protectors of their tribes.

where as we impliment as many of these teachings and customs into our modern lives there are many places where we simply fall short of what a Druid was. it was a Caste system and an educational system. and much of this knowlege is lost to time and the neglect of mankind.

there are few left alive today that have the training to be called Druid. many people that follow the Celtic gods will call themselves druid. this is perfectly fine with us as it is their path. but we prefer to preserve the culture and lives of these people and in doing so we do not take titles that are not earned through the same methods that they were earned in the ancient days. as there are few (if any) alive to teach these ways , and if any remain the knowlege is secret. we remain faithful to the gods and the lifestyle of the Druids. without dispersing their culture and mystery by assuming the right to their Name.

that is a Celtic Pagan.

peace to you all.
