All that I have ever heard about Kabbalah was publicity from Madonna and Britney Spears. But I am honestly interested in this religion and I was wondering whether or not someone can shine some light on the religion? It seems pretty interesting and fascinating from what I have heard.

Thanks

This modern day nonsense being "sold" - oh yes, dear - it's ain't free!! - and marketed as "Kabbalah" has about as much to do with REAL Kabbalah as McDonald's does to fine cuisine.

REAL Kabbalists will tell you don't even start until you've got a full grounding in the study of Torah and know it frontwards and backwards. Like - 30 years worth of study.

Don't do it unless you're willing to go "all the way". Kabbalah "Lite" - is just cultic nonsense.

Kabbalah is not a religion. It is a part of the Jewish religion. It's a form of Jewish mysticism.
People who are REAL experts in Kabbalah--I mean the people who knew and studied it long before it became Hollywood's latest trend, say that what everybody who is jumping on the Kabbalah bandwagon now is studying isn't proper Kabbalah. It's adapted to be more appealing to the masses, and is an insult to the real belief system.

Kabbalah is an interesting mystical tradition that originated in Judaism, but is now followed by people following other religions or philosophies as well.

To get some excellent background, I suggest you read the encyclopedia articles in the sources list below.

Kabalah is not a religion, actually. It is more a way of living. The Kabala is a set of ancient tools to help man achieve all he can while he is alive. The Kabalah has many parts; Numerology, Hebrew alphabet, and all the other aspects of the Kabalah work together to initiate and further man's consciousness to the point where it is possible to achieve a sort of one-ness with the universe.

That was overly simplistic, I know, but it's like trying to explain a rainbow droplet by droplet.

Good luck on your quest.

Kaballah is not a religion; it's the mystical aspect of Judaism. It's one of those, "Yes, but" things we tend to ignore...
EDIT...
There are some aspects of Kaballah that are deeply insightful & full of hidden truth. However, there is also a mixture there, of history & mysticism & folklore. Typically, Kabbalah is not even delved into unless one has 40 years of already studing Torah, as a basis for understanding the Kaballah.

there is no religion of kabbalah. kabbalah is jewish mysticism that is intrinsically linked to G-d, the bible, and its hidden layers. what madonna and britney spears practice is nothing more than new age hocus pocus that questionable gurus pass onto the world in order to make a quick buck from anybody they can dupe into following it. the more celebrities they attract, the more business for them, the more profits they earn, and the more laughs they have at people's gullibility.

And we see how well kabbalah is working for them.

Why go for something fake, instead of something real. Don't be one of these lost people, when you have a heavenly Father that loves you and wants to give you eternal life. Why settle for garbage, because wasted britney spears does it. That is so sad!
