The short answer is Yes! University of Phoenix does offer Financial Aid like any other major US University. My own opinion and experience is that You should not listen to people that are trying to disuade you from pursuing your academic dreams. Remember, you are going to school for "your" education and not necessarily to impress some high minded HR person. In fact people can say whatever they want about any school...I attended an IVY League type school and quite frankly I wasn't impressed. My girlfriend attended University of Phoenix and guess what? She is in charge of HR at a major Aerospace/Defence contractor. You simply cannot allow people's biases to influence your noble decision to go back to school. Another fact is that The University of Phoenix has enabled scores of military personnel who are serving our country throughout different parts of the world. This unique school had the vision and foresight to position themselves and their programs in such a way that working class people could continue their education through University of Phoenix. I know that there are a lot of hard core biased people who certainly have their opinions on Universities and job prospects. Let them worry about that. You on the other hand should go ahead and get that education, and advance yourself like my girlfriend did...and who knows you may end up hiring the next generation of employees at your company. One more point and I'm done. When I was attending this IVY league school, one of the "so called" perks that we used have was to have the top companies come to our campus and recruit us for their high paying jobs. Some of those top notched companies at the time were named, "Enron" "Anderson Consulting and Accounting" "Worldcom" and the list goes on (you get the idea). The fact of the matter is that a lot of people who were hired from our IVY League school lost their jobs just like the rest of the folks...It had nothing to do with what school you attended and blah, blah blah. So in Summary Yes! University of Phoenix does offer both Financial Aid and a quality education that you can use anywhere in the world. Please pursue that education and don't let anyone's bias discourage you from doing the same. The fact of the matter is the Internet has revolutionalized our very lives and a degree from University of Phoenix (a fully Accredited school) might be right thing for you, your lifestyle, your job prospects, your family and scheduling.....(All of the above). Trust me I have seen what it has done for my girlfriend. It has opened up some major doors....and to this day she proudly displays her MBA from University of Phoenix, while evaluating new hires from other top notch schools. (Also please note that I do not work for them....but I'm seriously considering attending their school because I do not want to interrupt anything in my life right now and for the above named reasons). There you have it. That is my complete answer.

I currently attend University of Phoenix and yes they do accept federal financial aid, because i have used it to pay for my education thus far. Do not believe the idiot saying that it is not recognized by HR personnel. If UoP was not a legitimate school there would not be federal funding to available for it.
Speak with your enrollment cousellor and they will walk you through the financial aid part if you need any help with it.

As long as you have a degree from an accredited school, it comes down the interview process. Any human resource manager will tell you the goal is to find the best "fit" for the position. Is there a difference in having a degree from Yale and Phoenix, of course there is. But having the degree is just one component.
My friend works in the defense industry and was interviewing several candidates for a position. All had MBA credentials, some from top notch university's. In the end he choose a candidate who had an MBA from Phoenix University. That person interviewed the best and seemed to be the best "fit" for the position.

The "University" of Phoenix will accept any money it can get it's hands on. HOWEVER.....the degrees/diplomas/certificates they award are virtually useless....any HR person in any company will tell you that as soon as they see "University" of Phoenix on a resume/application it goes to the bottom of the pile...never to be seen again.
