When i push down on the accelerator the car shakes violently but stops immediatley when I stop accelerating. The harder I push down on the accelerator the more violently the car shakes.

Could this simply be a fuel filter or a fuel injection problem?

Dude I really have your answer. Anyway you should replace fuelfilter, o2 sensor, but the sound of it sounds simple. I haad this problem multiple times. IT sounds like your running on fewer pistons. Which means that your spark plug connection is bad. or atleast one or two of them. Replace your plugs and wires and rotor. I think that will definatley help. damn I wish I had help before I sold my car. sold it cheap all because of a spark plug. LOL

Sounds like a bent driveshaft, have you been beating the car, or has the tranny slipped. I bet that your driveshaft is bent. Get one from a junkyard to replace it.

best of Luck!

it could be the egr valve or the mass air flow sensor, and also the fuel filter or injectors.
