nope....zero value.

wanna know why?

nails are made of keratin, the same stuff your hair is made of. it is actually a form of protein. however, we, along with most other members of the animal kingdom, do not have the right enzymes to break down this complex protein and gain its benefits. hence, it is like eating cellulose. we do not get anything from it except fibre.

eating your nails is bad for your health because things get stuck under your nails that the human eye cannot see.

however, having said that, i suppose i have to tell you that eating your nails will not kill you.

No. In fact, it's one of the most unsanitary things you can do for yourself! You have NO idea what kind of bacteria is living on the things you touch on a daily basis, and ingesting all of those "unknowns" can be very bad for your immune system.
Aside from all that, it's just plain gross. I did it from the time that I was 5, all the way until I was 19 or so, and my nails always looked so boyish. I think your best bet is just to steer clear of it altogether. :)

No, you really shouldn't even try biting your fingernails. There's over 200,000 types of bacteria, viruses, and diseases under your nails. Eeww!

My question is... Why would you eat finger nails? Do you know how much bacteria is under them?

No.

Nails, like your hair, are waste shed by the body.

There are germs and bacteria at the end of your nails.

No, chewing your fingernails exposes you to bacteria that lies under your fingernails. I would advise you to not chew them.

Yeah this is a gross question?? Why would you care anyway???
I am not sure though. Your nails are protein so mabe you can get a small amount of protein from it but I wouldn't suggest it.
