Surely if you have faith in God, then there's nothing to fear, for God will save you. The Bible claims God is more powerful than even Satan, so Iran or homosexuals shouldn't be a problem for God to deal with. So why do you constantly preach gloom and destruction? The only reason to have fear then is if you don't really believe in God.

You're exactly right. But what you regard as "gloom and destruction" is what we perceive to be a precursor to great joy. Therefore we do not fear it, knowing that it must come, and will pass away, and will be followed by the Kingdom of God on earth. Other than that one point, what you say is completely true.

I have the greatest confidence in God. In humans - I don't. Fear can be a good thing. I fear cancer so I don't smoke. I fear certain neighborhoods at night so I do not go there alone. Fear means we use our common sense when the situation arises.

Phos,
Actually in Matthew 28:16-20 we are given the Great Commission. This tells us that we are to preach the WORD, and Baptize those who believe. We can not do so without warning of the perils of this world. I do not fear satan's followers but I do attempt to warn them of the coming Judgment by Christ. HE will come when GOD has decided that to be. I hope that you are ready. Have a great evening and a wonderful weekend.
Thanks,
Eds, Christian

There is indeed nothing to fear when you have your eyes on Jesus. Who is scared of homosexuals? The only fear I have concerning them or any other non-repentant sinner is the fear for their souls. This is not understandable to anyone who rejects the Gospel, but we really do preach to sinners out of love for them and in hopes that their eyes will be opened to receive the Truth of Jesus. Sometimes you have to stomp on their toes to bring them around. Law to the proud, grace to the humble.

Belief in God doesn't remove fear, as we all have pain and suffering in our lives. This is life on the physical plane and God does not spare us from this. It is suffering that people fear and seek to avoid.

Do not fear out of being frightened, rather, fear in the sense you are in awe the love God has for us.......fear in the normal context is negative based. I don't believe God is this way....God's love is unconditional.

We don't fear.

Save us, Yes - God will through Christ.

There IS gloom, doom and destruction on the horizon. So,.. though we may "preach" this, it doesn't necessarily mean that we FEAR it.

SO, your logic is flawed my friend.
Try again,...
