I am pretty sure this is not the correct spelling for it....
but it is pronouced as I spell it.........

Key cal....... its German the pronoucation of it.

Grandma was from Germany.....

When she made bread she always took some dough and cut it mostly into triangles and then deep fried it and then put sugar on it.

Does anyone speak German and know any thing about German cooking...... Has anyone ever heard of it?

is there a German Cookbook with it in the book?

it may be called kiechla or kichle that's the correct pronunciation (both spellings are right ,all depends in what part of Germany you are from) I'm German but never heard of Key cal
but this must been her own version off sugared here is a similar recipe::
makes 25 cones
1 stick softened butter
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups all purpose flour
1 egg lightly beaten 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


glace
1/2cup milk 2/3cup sugar 1/2cup corn syrup 1 teaspoon butter mix together on the top of a broiler cook over low heat or simmering water stir constantly until all dissolves remove pan from heat

baking instructions
spread glace over unbaked formed cones and bake for 30 min in 350F oven . good luck
