"religion" is a disaster.
A personal relationship with God is the needed thing.
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
Look into your own heart ... what do you see?
Genesis 6:5
Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Ecclesiastes 9:3
This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one fate for all men. Furthermore, the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil and insanity is in their hearts throughout their lives. Afterwards they go to the dead.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

If you feel that you need more meaning or a desire to touch something higher in your life, and you think exploring religion or spirituality will help you do that, then go ahead and look around, look at all the different religions, and see if you find some ideas that resonate for you. A good place to learn about all the different religions is

Your heart will tell you when you hear the truth, even when it hurts. But you do not need religion. The true definition of religion is to return to bondage. If Jesus sets us free from bondage, why would we want to return there?
A relationship with God the father is what you seek, and the only way you can get there is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, His Son.

Jesus screamed at and about the "Religious" people of his day. The Pharisees, Chief Priests and Elders, the ones who pray in public and call attention to themselves, the one who plops huge amounts in the offering tray and calls attention to themselves, the rich man whom he told to sell everything he owned and give it to the poor and follow him/Jesus.... these were all "Religious" people.
Don't be "religious." Just believe.

If you don't know, how would I know. Do you want others to tell you your truth?
Does it give you joy to be religious? Then be religious.

like that Mister Ape guy said, more or less, you don't need religion (practices to attain holiness) you need to develop a relationship with Christ.
and the Truth you know will set you free, but only if youaccept it

What are your beliefs? If you believe in God(s), you're a Theist and thus might well fit into some religion - you need to get at the details of your beliefs to know which one, if any.
If you don't believe in God(s), you're an atheist - and of course we don't have any religions.
