Wow, me too (yesterday). I happened to have allergies and a cold at the same time. You probably have the same thing, but one is making the other not feel like it's there, even when it is.

Your cough is probably caused by the increased mucous produced as a means of protection from your immune system. Take an allergy medication with a decongestant. The most readily available one is Claritin-D. The Decongestant componant can make you feel a little spacey. You can also take them at night. You may need a stronger medication. I'd see your family doctor if you find that OTC meds don't help.

Yes, if you don't have high-bloodpressure, you can use Benedryl or other market brands of antihistamines to dry up the mucus. Talk to your doctor, local clinic, or pharmacist. Be sure to tell them if you are taking any other prescription medications or non-prescription drugs. Good luck! Allergies can be miserable! A few years ago I had them so bad I couldn't keep my eyes dry, the cough was horrendous, and literally would cut my breath off! Really, get some relief ... You'll be glad you did.

Yes. My little brother has this. He kept coughing, and we couldn't find out what it was. The best answer was allergies.

Yes. Many times when the body is suffering from allergies, mucus starts to be produced more quickly than usual. This often means that you begin to cough. It's probably a dry cough, and it should go away in a matter of weeks...if not, call your doctor.
