There are many different types of cracked teeth. The treatment and outcome for your tooth depends on the type, location, and severity of the crack. From what you have said,it sounds like you have a cracked tooth or a split tooth.

In a cracked tooth the crack extends from the chewing surface of the tooth vertically towards the root.Sometimes the crack can extend below the gumline and even into the root.A cracked tooth is not completely separated into two pieces. In this type of crack, there is usually pulp damage,so a root canal will be needed to treat the tooth.

A split tooth is usually the result of long term progression of a cracked tooth. The tooth in this type of crack is sepatated.A split tooth can never be saved intact. It depends on the position and extent of the crack as to whether the tooth can be saved.

Extensive cracks can lead to infection of the pulp tissue which can spread to the bone and gum tissue surrounding the tooth.

You need to go to a dentist or oral surgeons office immediately. We cannot diagnose dental problems on here, or tell you how they can be fixed.

Dental surgery varies from patient to patient.

Please get yourself some help as soon as possible, you are chancing causing further damage to your tooth/teeth the more time passes by.

Have a good night.

go to the dentist, They can repair the tooth with a filling. Depending on x-rays, they may do a root canal. Once they do that they put a crown on it and then a porclein crown.

it depends if bacteria has gotten in and gotten into the pulp. if it did, you will need extraction. they give you a temporary partial to wear (if it is not an end tooth) and you can get a permanent partil or bridge in 3 months. if the tooth is savable, they need to do a crown. get porcelain over gold. a regular crown (porcelain over metal, or a stainless steel one)will have nickel in it, a cancer causing agent. do not get a root canal. there is info on dental crowns on the first URL source down below.

do not get root canals and if you have them, get them out:
