take a radio or stereo and put it near your bugies. they'll let you know if they like the music. they'll either tweet quitely or tilt their heads toward the music if they like it..they'll be loud if they hate it!!
i used to keep the CD player near the birds at the petstores i worked at to keep the birds happy.

All budgies like music. Depending on your specific one, the genre varies. Most budgies listen to classical music, such as The Beatles, maybe some Bruce Springstein, but, llike I said, it depends on the bird. The best thing to do is play them different types of music during the day, and which ever one they are calm with is their favorite. Also, at night, make sure to play some soft music for them so that they don't get scared. Most budgies, even if they are trained, still think that, at night, when it's dark and silent, they think something is lurking around waiting to eat them, which is very stressful. This is their natural instinct and must be dealt with by either playing the music, or covering the cage up with a blanket and leaving one side open for breath. Or, you can do both.

My budgie loves music. He bobs his head up and down (more like his whole body) and starts "dancing". He tries to sing (more like whistle) to any music whenever I am listening on my PC. it is really funny to watch. There are some songs he doesn't like... slow songs in particular but some of his favorites are Chilli Peppers, James Blunt, Linkin Park, the Beatles, Green day. His fave at the moment is Headstrong d and some theme songs from cartoons (particularly anime). I know he likes a song when he starts squawking when the song is done. sometimes I have to play it at least 5 times before he is happy. Budgies are very social birds, and a little music to keep them entertained never hurts, just make sure it isn't turned up too loud!

Yes, they love music! My cockatiel loves to bob his head up and down to the music! I would leave on a radio while at work. I think your budgie will have a great time while your gone.

Yes they do! my budgie likes "I am pizza" in french
god knows why!!
they also like giutar music if you sing along!
