Hello. Just thought I'd give you guys a little background about me first. I'm a 23 y/o female who is 5 feet tall and weighs 132lbs. I'm a size 5-9 depending on the jean brand. All through high school, i was a size 0-3 depending on the jean brand, and i weighed around 95-105lbs. As of now, I barely eat...maybe 1000calories a day or less, and I get around 30 mins of cardio 3days/week. I work 40 hours a week and I go to school 16 hours a week. Why am I so chunky, even though i'm active (I work at a hospital, constant walking) I don't seem to lose any weight, even though I know I'm not nearly getting the right amount of nutrition/calories my body needs, i am extremely under the amount of calories my body needs to function, on some days, a barely eat 500-700 calories. Also, my periods have stopped even though I'm not pregnant! Can any of you give me advice/insight on what may be wrong??? Thanks so much:)

It is because you are not getting enough calories. your body is fighting back by hoarding fat stores at every possible chance!
The more you miss meals or calories, the more you will keep yourself from losing weight. You are slowly killing yourself.
quit it!
You need to set yourself a series of smaller meals several times a day that give you all of the calories you need a day. At 23 that is Weight x 17 = 2244 per day! in fact, as active as you are, you could probably be better off at 2640!
You should be eating regularly with your exercise habits, and at a much higher calorie intake than you are.
My suggestions,
start drinking milk
take a multi vitamen,
give yourself time to get over your poor eating habits because they will make it harder for you to lose the weight you want, Find out what you doctor says is your ideal weight, because it is never the same as what it was in highschool.
continue exercising but make sure you get what your body needs or it will continue to hoard fat and store it up. Worse, it will burn off muscle tissues before it burns fat if you continue!
Good luck.

When your periods stop its like a warning sign from your body! My personal advice is to eat more, lots more...just (probably) not what you've been eating. There are negative calorie foods, they take more calories to digest than they contain. These foods are basically all friuts and vegetables. Don't eat meat, the Atkin's diet is a joke it works short term and I'm guessing if you put in the effort you want something that lasts. Get your protein from soy and nuts.
You're probably not drinking anything but water. Drink lots of water!!! Do this whenever you think you are hungry if water doesn't make you feel better after about 15 min you really do need to eat. Most people confuse being thirsty for being hungry!
By the way, if you go to a vegan diet you will be able to eat as much as you want so you'll never be hungry but because vegetables contain so few calories you won't be eating too much even if you stuff yourself! As a plus you will *get rid of* most of what you eat (while eating completely healthy food) and as it this fiber goes through your system it will push out other stuff that's been trapped in there.
Did you know that anorexics do eat? I learned a lot of what I know from pro-anorexic websites. Don't take it the wrong way, I read the information about what foods are actually healthy to eat and what happens to the body when you don't eat enough. These websites are honestly full of helpful information for people trying to lose weight as long as they don't go to the extreme!

First of all, why are you only eating 500-1000 calories? This is nowhere near enough calories. You should be eating at least 1,200-1,500 calories per day.
Secondly, have you been to see a doctor to get checked out? It's really important that you make sure there aren't any underlying medical conditions as to why your periods have stopped and why you can't lose the weight.
If you haven't seen a doctor about this, you really need to make an appointment as soon as possible. Definitely don't leave it, get yourself checked out sooner rather than later.
Take care : )

Well you sure were lucky through high school!!
I don't think it is rite to eat a 500-700 calories a day, so stick with 1000 calories a day.(That is just my opinion)
And try a 60 hour cardio workout for 4 times a week. Also,
eat lots of fruits and veggies!!!

I dont think you are overweight...I do think you need to take better of yourself to be healthy and that should be your main concern. If you are slightly overweight It may be just how your body is and you should just try to be healthy and accept it. If you are a size 9 be the healthiest size 9 you can be and keep your heart mind and lungs healthy. And if you work in a hospital you should see a nutritionist to get you back on track. Dont get down pick yourself up and do the right thing before you get sick.

The stopped periods tells me you need to go for a physical. Just to be sure. The rest of the situation is you are getting older; your metabolism is starting to slow down. You need to get the metabolism back up by doing daily aerobic exercises. 5-15 minutes of jumping jacks will do the trick.
Any more questions? Write!

Yeah, I wager I am. My cash is relatively tight correct now and that is stressing me out and miserable me. I'm additionally looking to hinder sugar when you consider that I get depressed whilst I devour an excessive amount of of it. A well dialog with a well pal in most cases distracts me from each so I am with ease made pleased once more.

you are not eating enough calories to support yourself and your body is in starvation mode...you might need to change your workout routine...cut down the cardio and do some toning and weight work..and your periods have stopped because you are in starvation mode, just like anorexics who do not get their period..you should see a doctor and have a complete workup with blood work
