if the vin starts with a j its a japan car.

From the vin number as other answeres sated, but let me say rather us. or japan, Its a fine car, Toyota Camry is best car on the road i didjnt buy a my first car until 2005 i was always a truck /suv person, I bought a 2005 camry and fell in love with the 2007 camry which changed alot. and traded in got the 07 it is the best car i have ever drove,

Look for Kanji Katakana or Hiragana writing on the any main parts.There should be a location usually at the bottom end of the door where it shows where the Car is made!

By looking at the vehicle identification number if it starts with a number it was made in the US if it starts with a letter it was made in Japan. Yes its that simple, I work for Toyota.

Look at the VIN on the instrument panel on the lower left of the windshield. If the number begins with a 1 it is a US vehicle, if it begins with a J it is Japanese. Hope this helps!

I don't think that the Camrys were built in the US until very recently (2001+)


Check the edge of the driver's side door, or the edge of the driver's side pillar where the driver's door latches. It should say...

Your door decal will have that info in the fine print... it might even say Mexico...
