A 100.4 is still a low grade fever
No need for the hospital.. take some fever reducer ... call your doctor in the morning if the fever persist.
Hope you feel better soon

I have a serious answer
Take off your heavier clothes and make sure you are wearing something loose and comfortable. (a single layer like some shorts and a T-shirt. Make sure the room is not too hot or too cold. These are the best and most comfortable ways to bring your temperature down.
You are your own best guide to the level of activity that you allow. You may need extra rest or you may want to walk around a bit (NOT A LOT THOUGH). When you have a fever, it is best to drink lots of fluids and small healthy meals.
If you are miserable because of the fever, you can take paracetamol to make you more comfortable. If you are not too miserable, you won't need medicine. If you do take it though, carefully read the back of the bottle.
In the past, people have used many ways to cool down people with a fever. When I was little, my mom did the above for me and I had soda and crackers! It is the magic solution!

Ice water, Ice cream some frozen dinners and think cold thoughts. btw i wouldnt worry too much about 100.4 that is just slightly warm since the normal body temp is 98.7 which varies normally + or - 1 degree.

Don't take anything. You do not need to make the fever go down. The fever is actually helping your body fight infection. Unless it gets a lot higher leave it be.

If it's only 100.4 I wouldn't worry. Don't bother fretting about it unless it gets to 103.0. If it hits that then get to the hospital. Rest and feel better.

TYLENOL (acetaminophen) as directed on the bottle. It is a fever reducer. Don't overuse or can cause liver damage.
Aspirin is hard on a stomach and thins the blood.
NOT ADVIL(ibuprophen), that is an anti-inflammatory like when you sprain something or get swollen and bruised from something. ibuprophen is hard on your stomach just like aspirin.

Tylenol, but you may not want it to go down. A fever is your bodies way of fighting off something.

Tylenol is your best bet if you are not allergic. Make sure you get enough fluids in your system to prevent dehydration. Your body needs water to keep fighting the germs in your body. Also Get enough sleep, don't push yourself. GET BETTER!!!!!
