I really need to lose weight, at 16 weighing 19 stone i've really come to the terms that i need to do something or face an early grave. I've joined a gym and i am going regulaly now, but i swear, i hate vegetables and fruit, and not in a little kid way, i actually nearly be sick when i eat them so there not an option unless theres some magic tablet that will make me get used to them. Im just counting on eating less and doing well in the gym but i found myself consuming probably 3 times as much as i burn when i get home, i just have no will power, and i don't know what to do, but i know the consequences......

The bad news is there is no substitute for fruit and vegetables and if you want to lose weight, be healthy and enjoy life you are just going to have to get used to them. The reason you currently weigh 19 stone is that you avoid fruit and veg and I am therefore assuming that your refined carbohydrate intake is huge. Not liking fruit and veg could be dealt with very quickly by hypnosis. And by the way, nearly being sick when you eat any fruit and veg IS not liking them in a little kid way. You may also find hypnosis to be a great support in helping you be motivated but at the end of the day it is up to you. If you are eating a good diet and eating enough you should not feel hungry. Follow a low GL diet - the one by Patrick Holford is great. That way you will be eating plenty of delicious food, won't feel as though you are starving yourself, will get all the nutrients your body needs (and you will be amazed how good you feel) and you are less likely to binge. What you eat affects the way that you think and what you think affects the way that you eat. Don't let fat run your life.

The type of exercise and what you eat is a BIG factor in this.

I let myself really go for about 5 years until I realised what I had become. Work out sensibly. Go to the gym 3 -4 times a day to begin with.... Honestly.
If people say you are obsessed, so what? change you desire for sweet foods to the desire for a sweet body... there's no such thing as too much exercise, and when you finally get to the size you want, then you can live more and exercise less.

Try snacking on nuts and dried fruit to begin with, throw out all crisps, biscuits, cakes or anything else like this.
If you really feel your will-power going then eat some fruitloaf (not fruit cake). Try to eat things with sweeteners in rather than full sugar to start.

The gym visits do not have to be too long, you can train for about 20 - 30 mins 3 - 4 times daily. Try to do it each time before a meal, when you get home eat a proper meal, not junk food.

Good Luck!

First of all stop beating yourself up over the fact you don't like fruit and veg, your starting to do something about your weight, so be proud of yourself as you like food so much how about joining a Slimming World class, you can eat as much as you like on their eating plan, if you want to eat a whole chicken at one sitting you can, I've lost 19lb since the end of January on it and its brilliant, on a Saturday night I have a huge plate of chips, 2 poached eggs, a whole can of spaghetti hoops and 2 slices of bread for my tea, OK the chips are done in the oven with fry light but they are really lovely, I freeze Cadburys light chocolate mouses in the freezer cause they are just like choccy ice cream, I have a bag of quavers everyday too, you can do the meat and fish plan or a vegetarian plan and there is tons to eat on both and you will never be hungry but lose weight, have a look at their site on line, its www,Slimmingworld.co.uk, don't be shy about joining either as everyone is so friendly and down to earth at their classes and help boost your confidence big time, good luck and hope things work out for you.

It is you that has the strength and you that will fail if you don't do it. Think of yourself and love yourself enough to stop yourself a little each day. Treat your self well and love yourself well. You just have to have the willpower because no one else gives a damn but you! STOP yourself from indulging yourself. don't keep anything bad for you in your house thats a start. It is painful I know. I have screamed when I wanted ice cream or cookies and there are none here. BUT I didn't have any to eat either. Don't buy stuff that is bad for you and you will eventuallly start eating better just by habit, keep fruit in the house and make rules that you can't eat after 7 pm not even a grape, drink water and that's it. Be strong or you will never reach your goal and you will always be overweight. By 17 you can be normal weight and happier and healthier. I am cheering for you!!

When you are truly ready to make the commitment, then the will power will embrace you, but not one day before. When you are truly ready to lose weight, stay determined, set mini weight goals for yourself, & be realistic when you set them. You know the health reasons for losing weight, & that alone will help keep you motivated, once you're truly ready to make the weight loss commitment. Seek the help of a dietician & together, you can devise a healthy eating plan. Don't forget the importance of drinking water daily, not to mention exercising daily. It'll all come together for you, when you're serious & ready to get healthy. I wish you all the best of luck in the world. You can do this & you will be successful, but you have to want it badly enough.

IGNORE the first few answers. If you really want to lose weight then u will. losing weight will increase your confidence and affect the way people relate to you. If you are happier then this will invariably transfer to people you associate with and therefore create a snowball effect.
try to find 3 or 4 things that are good for you and you actually enjoy and try to stick to these things when you feel like a wee nibble.
.
I also hate vegetables but my grannys home made vegetable soup is pure heaven. you know what I mean?.

sorry I dont have any medical or psychological solutions for you but I hope you find a reason to achieve your goal. no reason no point.
ps i only meant ignore the first 6 answers the others all look genuine.

well done to you for noticing you have a problem, now your overweight its likely to drop off you quicker, BUT you must eat fruit and veg mix it in with something if you must hun

drink plenty of water, dont over do the exercise or you could have a heart attack, go swimming, walking all this is good for you

dont eat junk food,chocolate

have chicken and rice, chcken and veg, eat small amounts about 3-5 times a day, take your time even if it takes you 20 mins to eat a small portion
grapefruit is good before meals too
im sure you will do well, you could lose a stone in about a week and will feel great, but once you lose a couple of stone it will take time to lose the weight hun but dont give up
